Watching nerd

In your case OP because you have an L shape, I think it looks ok but in a long room I'm not a fan of RSJ's crossing through the middle. Anybody know if they can be put into the ceiling fully?

Thanks smile I think it looks better in reality but there are some issues to resolve. Why is nothing ever straight forward!

I guess anything is possible if you're prepared to pay! In our case I don't find it particularly offensive as it delineates the kitchen and living areas. Though I agree it would be better without it.

Those windows look great. Can I ask where you sourced them from?

Any updates to this, the layout is like our house and love what you've done to the kitchen.

Well...it's still not finished. Two years in and we're still being fked about by Wren Living/Kitchens...

There is an inset wood burner in there somewhere and the breast is clad in slate but the pic doesnt show it very well. The mirror will be replaced by a tv when i get round to it (doesnt get hot in the recess):

That looks really good, nor surprised to hear that about Wren. I got a full refund 12 months down the line from my credit card supplier when they still couldn't sort it out.

What's the issue with Wren? (Heard of issues, but never used them)

This is interesting to see because youve gone very open plan. My house would look similar if I knocked one more wall through. Its tempting, but the previous owner has done too much to the house to make it work I think. That and my wallet isnt deep enough having just moved in!

Where to start?! The first problems are incorrect or missing items which take an age to resolve (or never get resolved as I seem to remember in Muncher's case). Then there are the fitting issues, but that obviously varies between fitters. But in my case the biggest problem is with the paint finish on the doors. Wren used to buy the high gloss panels from Italy and the finish was excellent. When we bought our kitchen they started to paint them in-house so we ended up with a mixture. The UK ones are highly susceptible to chipping and some of the paint peeled off when the protective film was removed. They claim to have resolved the problem and sent me a sample which was chipped on arrival...
The whole Wren thing has really taken the shine off the project. tts.
The Furniture Ombudsman is now dealing with my case.

High praise indeed, Muncher. Thanks. We certainly haven't achieved the quality of finish of your project but once the Wren problems are sorted I'll be happy.

Looks really nice, however, Wren would be my last choice of supplier.

Ex MFI of sorts.

Indeed, part of MFI group.
