A quick update.
Progressing with skirting and architrave. Nothing to rave about really.

I had to install a concrete lintel in the fire place.
I also had to clear some old brick from the back of the fireplace before i start tiling it. God, it was hard work

The glass arrived for the stairs and Thursday i helped the carpenter fit it with the oak handrail. All i need to do now is stain the wood and clean the glass!

I also fitted the TV onto the wall this weekend
Looking for a sound bar at the moment

Then i had a small leak in the manifold upstairs. Looked like it had been leaking a while as the spare carpet i laid in there was damp, fixed now though

This weeks Jobs
Finish putting the skirting on in the 2 remaining bedrooms.
prep walls in study and games room for painting.
Paint games rooms and study.

I want to build something like this in the study

Thanks
N

So a quick update.

Its probably easier to speak to Winston Churchill than it is my plasterer..
Gable is still outstanding. And last night around when it got really dark, i checked the weather forecast and saw rain so i have gaffer taped a sheet over it to protect it.

The Oak Window Sills arrived and now oiled and installed.

The Games rooms has a splash of colour

The wood burner was installed but with a bit BUT. it arrived with a big chip so i am now waiting for the end of October for them to replace it.

Bricks have arrived for the walls being build down each side of the drive. Jewsons were selling these at £1600ish per 2,000 bricks. We got them for £1000 so a good saving

Foundations and power laid

Before the carpet was laid, i had an issue of a small gap between the stairs and the floor, there was also a small heigh difference. I used 20 or so small lengths of wood and PVA'ed them down, then once they dried i set the sander on it!

I FINISHED all the guttering and rain water drainage.
Yepeee

Testing the run before dismantling and laying the pea shingle then laying the pipe again:

Have you got enough room for airflow down the sides of the stove? Doesn't look like a lot?
We have never had a wood burner before. The installer did note it was a bit tight but once on we do get alot of heat from it. I have thought about a stove fan to circulate the air a bit more but during the winter after a couple of hours, it was heating most the the downstairs
