There's barely any crime, it's very quiet, a great pub five minutes walk away and very very dark at night which I like.

I've always said what ever house I buy, must be walking/staggering distance to a pub. Not just for the beer, well ok, for the beer. But, if you can't be arsed to cook, or you're out of booze. What about if there is a power cut, cellars keep beer cold, not fridges.

Hmmm. I guess since I am almost 5 miles to the nearest shop and a wee bit further to the nearest pub I should really buy a large cool box and store some food rations about the place

I'm one mile by car or half a mile by boat. Luckily there isn't a don't drink and float law.
