Too new, I suspect. I thought that movement ended before WW1...?

Given the age you believe it to be and the roof style it could be worth looking up the arts and crafts style for some reference points.

Is there any wood panelling inside?

Flashman,

When you say SW where is it? I am looking for somewhere bigger than my 2 bed flat in Pimlico but can't afford a full house here so am considering oval or stockwell area...

Interested where your place is, not sure where I will end up or even should be looking!

Moved to this about 3 weeks ago. Has been empty for 4 years and requires some renovation (i.e. total decoration, kitchen, bathrooms etc.) but currently mid re-wire - first fix just finished. Good news is it seems solid and I doubt we will change the structure/layout at all.

This is intended to be my forever home. Has most of the things I wanted including a small outbuilding which isn't pictured, and in the area where I grew up. Trying to do as much as I can myself due to limited funds.

Advice would be appreciated on decorating. I want to update but also keep character. However, I'm rubbish at design so my only option are to be heavily influenced by others (I can't visualise it otherwise). Any good websites?

Below are the agents pictures - they concentrated on the outside as the inside hasn't been touched for 20 years or so.

Any ideas to improve kerb appeal? Proper front door to replace ugly UPVC number, for starters. And painting the window frames. I think I would also paint the red brick low walls around the drive/front garden.
I like it too

Kerb appeal, I'd clean the drive & roof up, leave the garden walls as they are, re-paint the windows & swap the door as you say, but I'd give the whole front (& garage in a contrast) a lick of paint too
I had bushes/trees like that in front of mine & it made it look like a semi, clear them out and improve the light getting in also smile

Currently exchanging on this, SW London. Not what I originally wanted (I wanted a Victorian/Edwardian), but this just felt right when we walked in, and was over £300k less than a smaller Victorian semi-detached on the same road - a lovely, leafy no through road, backing onto a park. Needs a renovation, including loft conversion and garden landscaping, but when done will be 6 beds, 3 baths + 2 wcs and a smidgen under 3000 square feet, which is big for around here.

Pic is deceptive and almost had me not go and view it - it's a very deep house with a huge loft. I still have no real idea when it was built (will come up on searches, presumably). 1920's speaks to me, for some reason. Extensive original parquet floors inside seem to indicate that era.

Garage is too small for a modern car, sadly - and extending it to the side is big bucks, and not really worth it. Have successfully resisted Lady F's calls for it to be a utility room. Home cinema, here we go...

Keeping my current house and living in it whilst this is done. Hello bankruptcy.

Build a basement garage, digging out the slope on the drive (#expensive solution)

I thought that looked familiar, it's about a mile up the road from my parents place, I have a feeling it might have belonged to a friend of the family years ago. Nice place.

We're currently in Camborne, but will be be building on my parents land in the next year or so

It's a small world and even smaller in Cornwall - a number of people I've met have known the previous owner who sadly passed away about 4 years ago. I grew up about 2/3 miles away from this place, although didn't know this particular house, but left Cornwall about 20 years ago to go to University and then work. Now with young children I wanted to move back as IMO it's a great place to grow up.

Funnily enough I knew you were in Camborne/Redruth as ordered stuff from you when I lived in Bath and thought it was co-incidental then.

I'd add some steel gates, powder coated in black with gold finials, plus a few concrete lions.
