I'd add some steel gates, powder coated in black with gold finials, plus a few concrete lions.

Sunset from the front door last night-no filters it just looked like that smile

just think on this though - as much as I like it though does the grass butt up against the conservatory and if so isn't that a bit of a pain?

It's a small world and even smaller in Cornwall - a number of people I've met have known the previous owner who sadly passed away about 4 years ago. I grew up about 2/3 miles away from this place, although didn't know this particular house, but left Cornwall about 20 years ago to go to University and then work. Now with young children I wanted to move back as IMO it's a great place to grow up.

Funnily enough I knew you were in Camborne/Redruth as ordered stuff from you when I lived in Bath and thought it was co-incidental then.
Opie Oils is based in Redruth, but I'm living in Camborne (my wife bought a house there before we got together). Can't wait to get the planning sorted out for my place, not a fan of Camborne. We have a 7 month old son, so want to get back down to Connor so he can go to Connor School or one of the ones in Hayle

yes - but then you're looking at grass bits plastered all over that lovely crisp white render

Any ideas to improve kerb appeal? Proper front door to replace ugly UPVC number, for starters. And painting the window frames. I think I would also paint the red brick low walls around the drive/front garden.
I like it too

Kerb appeal, I'd clean the drive & roof up, leave the garden walls as they are, re-paint the windows & swap the door as you say, but I'd give the whole front (& garage in a contrast) a lick of paint too
I had bushes/trees like that in front of mine & it made it look like a semi, clear them out and improve the light getting in also smile
It is a semi though.
Ha mines not (which I was technically speaking about smile) but ok, end terrace then!

On it. Mine and Lady F's initials inset into the metalwork, highlighted in gold. Marble driveway. Something by Kahn on that driveway.

Some beautiful houses in this thread.

Here's ours - currently in the middle of a pretty big restoration.

Obligatory streetview pic. Seems to be from 2011, we bought last year.

Current:

Looks nice externally and we've decorated it well inside but its in a sthole of a location - I'm surprised the "promising young footballers" with a penchant for stolen motorbikes aren't in the streetview image....

However we are moving to here when we complete in a few weeks time:

Great location, but hideously dated internally....avocado bathrooms, 70's kitchen, the works! - Renovations documented here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I'll soon be gutted, reconfigured and back to how we like it however....

Maybe the next one will be a house but in our current career stage its not something affordable in Greater London (outside of a council estate...)

Even down to your dog i'm jealous. That's a fantastic house IMO. Mind me asking the area you live in. If it's in the south I'd be aspiring to somewhere similar in hopefully around 10 years!

Why thank you very much, we are rather chuffed with it smile

Un/fortunately it isn't in the south, more about as far north as you can get in England. It's a small town just east of Carlisle and although it represents a huge chunk of real estate for us, I won't piss you off by telling you what we paid for it. The north has its benefits, not least the fact that the norther side of the hartside pass begins right by us driving

I've yet to get a decent photo of the whole house as we're surrounded by mature trees, so unfortunately I can't really show you more.

Been in a couple of weeks now since the picture was taken so excess building junk is no longer in the garden. Unfortunately, about 2 skips worth of moving junk and empty boxes still taking up all the space in my garage.
