Very nice, LasseV. We have to make do with a bastu in our WC, and it's a squeeze for 3 people hehe

LasseV... Is your name a tribute to the athlete Lasse Viren by any chance?

Should that not be on the 'show us your real estate pron" thread? This thread is for the houses we own!

Thought PH'rs would be interested.... but yes... other thread may have been better.

Can't really see mine from above, but here's half of it!

It is traditional finnish house, made from thick wood. It doesn't have any other insulation, just 8 inch (or so) of wood but it is enough for our cold winter. Outside minus 30 celsius and inside is +22c smile
I can see that working well for the walls but the most important part to insulate is the roof. Surely your ceilings/roof structure are not 8" thick as well, are they?

Mine is also Finnish log home and the roof contains more Kingspan than you can shake a stick at.

I don't fish. We have 3 fishing boats that go out in decent weather and catch langoustine in creel pots. (It's a sea loch). We get dolphin and porpoise, and very occasionally orca whales. Not that you'd want to catch one of them!

Ah, I see. Not sure why but I thought you were inland quite a lot. Hadnt occurred to me that it was saltwater.
Orcas in Scotland? Have you seen any?

Not quite as grand as some of the ones on here.

We've made a couple of small changes since this was taken, new front door and lights out the front and got plans to redo the garden in the spring.

My wife did an epic job of removing about 20 trees at the front of ours and then turfing the area. It's made a huge difference to the front of the house...
