This is one just down the road from me, stunning place.
Used to be owned by a friend, so been in the house/pool a few times.

Once owned by Barry Sheen.

To my untrained eye, the decor has been done pretty well to be sympathetic but modern.

But my eyes would be utterly useless, as my head would have been knocked off within two mins anyway!

In the village next door to the Elizabethan house I posted above, is this recently restored rectory. This to me, is perfect and all I would ever need (well maybe slightly more garage space).

A few decor changes would be done, but generally Lovely Lovely Lovely.
Agreed. Lovely place and still looks like a warm family home despite the size.
Stunning.

Some redecorating needed, but I could live with it as is.

I found it on Rightmove instead as that website is infuriating. You can't stop the pictures from running through, so just as I'm having a good look the next picture fades in (which is also a highly annoying effect to use).

Here is the link if anyone else is annoyed beyond reason by the estate agent website-

love it
Has been on for years, so this is either a "taken off for Christmas" or a new agent. Was at least £1.6 to start with IIRC. Nice, but optimistic given the location is NEAR the Cotswolds, but a bit rank tbh.

"the Mill being retained for the present owners. This explains the rather complicated layout of the floor plan. " That would put me off.

Bedrooms a bit small and you might be constantly watching weather forecasts but I am a sucker for a view. When does it ever rain in Scotland anyway!

Anyone understand how this fire works? No obvious chimney. Clearly must be gas but what about CO?

I don't think they are now, but they did then when inlaws/parents moved in. Its all for sale now, as I read it.

Bio fire? - https://www.gelfireplaces.com/index.php?option=com...

It's a big room so a little CO wouldn't be a problem.

No garden (just a roof terrace). Hemmed in on all sides. Public wandering inches from all your ground floor windows.

It's a lovely, lovely house but you might feel a little like a zoo exhibit.

What he said.
Plus, perhaps even Londoners have realised that £4.5 mil, never mind £5.5 mil doesn't represent anything close to good VFM...!

PS - They've been trying to sell it for almost 4 years now, down from £8 mil initially.

Tasty garage though. And there's a chopper!
i'd imagine it would be worth some enterprising organised thief's while to take a drone and fly around to spy on places like that. Scope them out and value the goods. It's basically all on show in a place like that.

The picures look nice, but the house itself is right next to the A93. Handy for a blast up to Braemar, but not very private, and possibly a bit too noisy.

Perfect.

Not sure about the machine gun fire from the army range will be appreciated by the dogs though. But if I could afford that I'd buy them ear muffs.

I live near the ranges on Salisbury plain. You hear the machine guns occasionally, the tanks, and this weekend there were large 'crump- crumps' of artillery.

I love it. Dog ignores it all.
