Just goes to show that taste is an individual thing, I really like the interior, in fact I don't think I'd change much at all, just sort out the grounds so that they matched the majesty of the actual building.

A nice find.

Took a drive through Wentworth Estate (private estate with a huge golf course and some incredible houses dotted around it) some time ago but today I randomly decided to check right move.

This house is the market:

Pinewood Road, Wentworth, Virginia Water, Surrey, GU25
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

The market for such a house must be highly limited. You could sell a flat in central London to some oligarch who will never even set foot inside it, no problem. I know there's still a few empty houses in the estate the bug the majority seem to be occupied. They need to find someone with £23m, who wants to live in that area, wants a house that large and is happy to pay the running costs etc etc.

no worries smile pictures are always tough!

some of the stuff i love on here is with land - but i just dont want to live there... houses are a tough call!!

ideal house is Georgian, set in a couple of acres, and just off the kings road !

That's incredibly insightful of you. Are you an estate agent? If not, I reckon you could charge them for your skills.

That sounds like the kind of thing somebody would say if he wanted to try to force the price down wink

Just a second, are you referring to the house I posted?

I really cannot work out from the photos / floor plan how it is split, though I did think it strange there was no 'front' photo, also explains the price I suppose.

Would be a fantastic place to rent, well if it was the whole thing ideally, I would much rather not be the one responsible for the maintenance on that!!

Lovely but as others have pointed out, a great shame that it is split into at least 2 houses now. If you like Lutyens and want the whole house to yourself then this is your best bet. Generally regarded as his finest work. Click on the 'particulars' link for the brochure with a more comprehensive set of photographs.

I think it works well having bigger windows to the lower ground floor/basement.

Also have a soft spot for your croquet sets, JJ. We're getting married in the summer and would like to have a lawn set out. I don't think we'll get to championship lawn standard but will be well rolled.

Any shop soiled forum discounted sets? smile

Having a little look locally, it's nice to see even lovely Devon isn't completely immune to the McMansion...

Now, to try and even it up, this is a little more like it, if decorated a style more quirky than I would normally go for:
