Well, it's an interesting alternative to the more favoured an-Englishman's-house-is-his-castle castle type thing seen frequently on these pages.

I like it.

I'd always wondered what that was like inside. Much bigger than I expected. I like the fact that it has an integral garage plus a further detached triple garage biggrin

HS2 runs nearby, but after checking the map it'll be in a cutting on the other side of the golf course, so unlikely to be as much of an issue as the existing A46 noise.

The only thing I don't like is the spiral staircase; I accept that it's the right thing in a circular house, but perhaps they could have a second, near-straight staircase too.

Picture 3 seems to have been taken from helicopter above the house,so that view is a bit misleading

Not that it matters much, but it appears to be underwhelmingly furnished for such a nice house. The dining room table especially looks forlorn, like a slightly odd man no one wants to talk to at a party and who smells slightly musty and of Vics.

I don't suppose there's anyone living there. p.s. what are vics?

Half of the rooms wouldn't be out of place in the local leisure centre.

This may have caught my eye too! Internal garage for bikes and project car/tools, triple garage for dailies/crap.

The number of times I've cycled past that... Bigger than I'd realised. Rather nice.

I agree, the snooker room and the pool both have suspended ceilings. Awful.

Pool looks like something you'd find in a cheap hotel in Stoke.

^^ agreed, stunning house and scenery, and seems like a hell of a lot of property for the money

That's a fair hike up to Edinburgh though. Fair enough, you could get the train from Galashiels, but what when you get snowed in?

It is outstanding though. Some great driving roads in the Borders, and the people are awesome! A few years back, I had a project in Galashiels. I always tried to get the meetings on site as the drive down from Glasgow was just fantastic.
