It seems you need to be stood on a chair to look out at the landscape, I think that would annoy me in a beautiful location like that...

Agreed, that is an amazing building. A million quid a bit steep perhaps?

I do like the Martello Tower conversion, but I couldn't live in it.

Lol how very true

I like the fact they state it provides a substantial income as a holiday let. It woulld have to be several grand a week, to make a small return on the near million price tag. And as nice as the views are i cant imagine its booked up all year round.

internally though it is very nice

How on earth do you work that out?

I imagine you are confusing weeks and months.

£2k a week is just under 497 weeks to get back £995,000

Possibly ( likley lol )

But assuming its not occupied all year round, the maths looks worse.
Its 2k / week.
So lets say 22 weeks let as a holiday home
22 x £2k = £44k / year , less any maintainance and other landord associated costs.

Wfor basic reasoning we can call a yield of 4.4%/year. less any costs.
Like all property you they may plan on some appreciation in value.

All comes down to how often they manage to let it. and it is a very nice property.
But personally to have 1mil tied up in such a property wouldnt be my ideal.

It is fantastic inside though. I have no idea of the area, but would imagine it appeals to many.

About 5/6 years ago I was on the Dartmouth-Kingswear ferry and I saw this house on top of one of the many hills. I fell in love instantly and I have been obsessed ever since.
Fate seems to be drawing me towards it as a year or so later I looked for info on the internet and it was for sale. Fast forward to now, it pops into my head, I look for it and it's for sale!

Spooky :P

All I need now is £3 million. Worth every penny for that view. Sublime. I will not hear a bad word against it other than it might be a bit breezy up there.

I'm not sure where gibbon got £2k/week from, as I've found another website that quotes it at £2100 - £3300 per week, with a substantial % nightly loading on 3 or 4 night stays.

I got it from having recently looked how much it would cost to stay there, which was about 2k, apologies I wasn't exact and omitted the £100.

It was, to be honest a fairly throw away comment that I thought people may find interesting having recently considered it.
