Meh

See far better cars out and about in Surrey. There is a palatial property in V Water where the owners seemingly leave their Phantom out in all weather despite having a garage bigger than most houses.
I like that house a lot. Agree about the cars, some people have a good number of beauties tucked away in that neck of the woods.

If its a castle you want but you don't have £M's, start with a chalet bungalow on the side of a dual carriageway (Apr 09)

Replace the wooden fence with a castellated wall (Sept 12)

Add a turret and some more castellations to the house (Sept 14)

and then maybe..............a moat?..........a drawbridge.............?

Who knows, but the kids love going past it to see what else has been added!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you - the kids (and me) have always wondered what's behind the castle !
Have you seen it lit up at night ?

Question, what's wrong with this place?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/property/periodproperty...

I know all about maintenance costs etc. But 64 bedrooms and 88 acres for 4.25 million?

Some catch surely?
Grade 1 listed...
Surely the 60s built accommodation wing isn't listed. Pull that down, turn the chapel into parking and you might be on to something. It doesn't look in too bad shape from the pictures. I'd say the catch is their cemetery on the land which they are keeping, and will want access to etc. It'll make turning it into a super lux one family unit a right PITA, which is why they've had to reduce the price I'd say.

Also, 'SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION Hard copies of illustrative floor plans of the main buildings, Ordnance Survey extracts indicating the extent of the property, schedules of accommodation, and a copy of the Listing details are available from the Trustees joint agents at a cost of £20. Electronic copies of the schedules of accommodation, Listing details, Energy Performance Certificates and an Asbestos Report are also available.'

£20 just to see the floorplans? Am I being mean? I've bought 20+ properties in my life, and I've never been asked to pay for the brochure!

I'm in the mood for something a little bigger (Not just the size of the property that is big. The issues with it are bigger)

Britain's largest stately home - on sale for £7million

Used to be a campus for Sheffield polytechnic in the 80s.
I used to play hockey on pitches at the front of the house.
Remember the swimming pool and there were also student accommodation there in separate buildings.
We used to have post match food in the main house.
They must have been leasing it from the owners at the time.

Get in touch with this man. I believe he has stocks of oak and even some of the last Elm available which makes fantastic furniture. 've never dared ask the price though

I noticed that the huge development opposite Kensington Gardens on the South side is nearly finished, does anyone know anything about those? They're surely going to be quite special, and no doubt have telephone number price tags as well...

Thanks guys - the American ones look fantastic although a little pricey, however the other chap maybe just as expensive for bespoke work.
Looking for a 10/12 seater table to go in the new extension once built and this is exactly the style wanted.
Will keep looking.
Cheers

Not usually a fan of modern architecture but this one is pretty special: http://www.residence.se/till-salu/objekt/?obj=OBJ2...

I also quite like this: http://www.skeppsholmen.se/sv/object/images/strand... (although I still prefer the next door neighbour that I've posted before).

And this is lovely... but what on earth were they thinking with those photos? http://www.skeppsholmen.se/sv/object/images/haring...

Lifted from another thread.

Who would live in a house like this?

http://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/34859066#...

I for one certainly would, right up my street in all respects with the exception of price!
