Shamelessly pinched from elsewhere. Not bad though. http://m.primelocation.com/for-sale/details/352960...
Not porn but fabulous all the same. Great photography, superb garages. Love it.
What starts out as an unassuming London end of terrace just gets better and better. It needs preserving as it is! As you say, love the garages... biggrin
A good proportion of the pics are of items that won't stay, and the only one missing is of the body of the owner's mother propped up in a chair somewhere.
What a wonderfull time capsule that place is, you could pick in up and dump it in the middle of the Goodwood Revival as a display and the crowds would flock in
But it's not a time capsule, though. It looks like it's been fastidiously maintained, in a particular style. It would be a fabulous purchase. I particularly like the office above the garage.

As this is Pistonheads I've got to ask, what the cars are? I know one is a Humber but I assume the others are American. Is one a Chevrolet? scratchchin

Yes the gold one is a Snipe. I think the black one behind it might be a Chevy - the strakes under the bonnet look typical.

Don'y know the one on the lift or the rakish blue one.

Google is a wonderful thing. Although I can't track down what the coupe is, and that's the best of the bunch, imho!

I wonder if the owner's on here...

So there's five classics. If you look there's two different black cars in the back workshop. So the Humber, the Armstrong Siddeley and another black saloon. Then there's the blue American coupe and the Ford V8. Plus all the motor bikes, that's one hell of a collection. Someone must know the story behind this lot.

Was looking at the pictures for that E17 house for sale a while back, seems like it was only back in June 2013.

http://www.zoopla.co.uk/property-history/33-glouce...

If the same stuff is there, then clearly the same owners since then, so lucky it didn't sell as there is now a bit of a price hike too, like everything else round here. Though so must think if it didn't sell, why will it sell for £140k more! biggrin

Ah but they're exactly the sort of garages I'd love to rent for a few hundred a month to work on my cars... smile

I could invite a few mates round to tinker on their cars on Sundays, light the BBQ, have a beer. I agree I wouldn't want to live in the house.

Looking at the house I wonder if it was a builders yard, perhaps the one who built the estate?

As for value, this is the sort of stuff advertised for £700K. Made worse by the additional photos in the ad. Were those taken by someone with serious arthritis on their phone?

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Or talking of 50's style, this for £700K as well

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

It makes the one with the garages look cheap!

The blue 5 window coupe I am pretty sure is a 37 Ford

Anything around the 3/4 of a £million mark up here should be set in a couple of acres really.
I wouldn't want to be too close to other people, anyway.

  • edit* Such as (albeit not a COUPLE of acres), but more my kind of place -

I have a few family members who live in Walthamstow/Leytonstone, why anyone would want to pay that sort of money to live there I have no idea, unless they are from the area originally and want to stay close to family. As my 18 year old cousin frequently reminds me in his LME accent, "I'm living in E"gun"7." fk that for £700k around there!

yes the prices in the borough of Waltham Forest and in Particular Walthamstow are crazy, out performing the rest of country. It is despite all the money pumped into it however a complete and utter st hole and I say that as someone that was born there, I wouldn't go back there now without a stab vest.

That property above came onto the market at £800k in August didn't stay at that for long and no one snapping it up now for it's guide price. It's in tight dead end bit of the road and right by the railway line as well. Besides that, it's in the dearest part of Walthamstow.

I grew up In Abbey Wood, South East London and basically its the arse end of London with crappy train and bus links (no Tube)..... Until now, they are building a fast rail link to the Centre of London and the East End, prices are going up daily, only a few years back you could get into a 3 bed semi for way less than 100K, they are being snapped up at 300K currently, all very daft

Yep, you know that an area is a st hole when it's inhabitants refer to me as being posh for originally coming from Hornchurch hehe
