This listing was removed for a while, but has popped back up, with a reduction. Now 100,000 less than before.
It really is the most wonderfully proportioned house. Just fabulous.

That's a lot of property for the money. If you won a few mill on the lotto you would have to be tempted as a get away. It really is the most wonderfully proportioned house. Just fabulous.

Maybe a bit too close to the hospital and A90.

I was un/lucky enough to work for a charity which owned numerous places like this and spent 10 years living in them.
Just try heating the b*stard places in the winter! 16K for electric to keep it just about freezing in winter alone!
Then... grounds staff. I used to use the local council to keep the grounds in order and that was with 22 of my own staff in the summer!
Ah... and decorating! Thousands per room.
Fantastic summer residence, shooting, climbing, archery, sailing etc. We had the lot.
The last place I ran was valued at £4.5m, 8 acres, private beach with moorings (worth 100K+), one of the best rural postcodes in the country blah... sold for £750k
You need 10 times the asking price to live in these places which is why they are so cheap.

I wonder if there is a maintenance liability on the Church?
I did wonder that, despite it not being mentioned in the particulars. Would the agents/seller have to mention it? I read somewhere the Rectory holds a key for the Church.

If that were nearer £1.2m, I'd be seriously looking at it as a country hgouse for purchase equally with a friend. We're looking for a country house to share (we both want to keep our places in London), and for weekends, a nearby station that goes to Liverpool Street Station (near my office) in under 2.5 hours sounds good.
It is a beautiful property. My Defender moored in the garage on a trickle charger for when I get there? I think so.
Test them out with an offer :-) what's the worst that can happen. It is a beautiful property. My Defender moored in the garage on a trickle charger for when I get there? I think so.
if it's been on the market a long time then you are in the driving seat.
