There is a few expensive places in North Wales and it's less than 88 miles to chester, it's a beautiful area too, as a holiday place for those nice couple of weeks in the summer and a base to use for walking Snowdonia it would be awesome. I'm in. Where's my cheque book...
I would have to disagree, in my opinion Abersoch is just not a nice relaxed place at all
There is a huge schism between the 'yacht class' and the locals which just gives an air of unpleasant tension

This gaff is also on the busy main road into town and away from the best beaches, although as the best beaches are home to the yachties this is a plus in my book

Stunning views it certainly has, but for 3 mill I would like more privacy, more land and better access to a decent chippy - this may give me away as not being a yachtie...............
It looks like caravan land on Google Earth. But worse than that people walking along the public road behind the house overlook a large part of the decking and can see into some of the rooms. I wouldn't pay than much money for something with so little privacy. Not tha I have that sort of money.

I see you've retained all the "period features".

It's called Rat's Castle. Maybe for a reason?

I did notice a caravan camp up the road.

Does look nice. I suspect you'd have to go and pay it a visit to find out...

(not the best location though!)
I'm sure that was on Grand Designs a few months ago, or maybe one of them George Clarke programs.

I've viewed one or two and they always have some really awkward spaces or rooms with uncomfortably low ceilings.
I viewed one a few years with a view to converting it into a house. The ex vicar showed me round. There seemed to be a bit of local ill feeling about the church being converted into a dwelling and I mentioned this to the vicar. He said, "well they weren't bloody interested when it was open".

That's lovely, I'd have that smile

I wonder how much it will actually sell for. I am told that many places like this change hands for significantly less than the advertised price.

I keep coming back to the chateaux on sites like Groupe Mercure and Sifex. Absolutely everyone says that it's a lunatic idea to buy one. There is a good reason that they stay on the market for years. But I just can't get the idea out of my head. Frankly, I'd rather my obituary read "he passed away in his chateau, which had fallen into disrepair" than "he passed away in his Barratt home, which he kept in good order".
