I remember being on the IoW about this time last year. In Gunard in fact, staying in the Pub next door to that street (tip: ask for a room with a view) and went for a morning stroll.
I'd actually clocked that house on the road in the evening when I went for a walk up the hill.

For me - a crisp bright morning with that position, the sun radiating on the face, watching the boats and ships drift by, knowing you could take a paddle board to the water for a morning exercise, or a sail in a dinghy on an evening perhaps - it would set me up day in day out for a happy life. A Happy Day.
It would pay for itself easily by giving dollops of joy.

A current re-assesment of life is showing that the material things don't have half as much value as the things that make you happy, relaxed and ...... or is this all a little hippy ??
It looks like a half-million pound shed.
Location is great though. Note the agents suggestion of holiday home! Great if you've won the lottery.

Love those domed ceilings. And Maldon nearby. Very nice.

Completely agree on the front view- reminds me of an old school hall entrance.

That said, this is one of the best properties I've seen on here in recent weeks

I think I'd get some ivy or something similar planted to grow up the front of the property but my word what a lovely place all the same, not that far from me either.

Just vacated by the original 19th century owners by the looks of it.

£1m + another few million to bring it into the 20th century and another few million to bring it onto the 21st century.

Knew that would appear when I saw it in the press today.

Yes, it'll cost a couple of quid to get through an MOT, but wowsers.

Even given the monumental amounts needed to get it together, it still seems cheap.

My old man bought one of those in the late 60's as a "cheap" holiday place when my older brothers first came along and he foresaw the cost of holidays abroad being too much with 2 young kids. Held on to the place until a few years ago.

I'm devastated he sold it, would have loved to have kept that in the family. Many fond memories of school holidays spent there.

You can drive out of the front like Ecto-1 in Ghostbusters!

think that's a repost, i definitely remember the interior being rather cheaply furnished by comparison... but then exterior is one of the most ostentatious houses in the UK so it would be hard to live up to it tastefully!

I must admit, the thought of the effect of 'the big one', when it inevitably happens, or a tsunami did cross my mind. Still would though!
Great views, but the PCH is outside your front door, and it's really effing busy! There are more secluded, private roads, in Malibu.
Take your point re the PCH - found it on Street View! I wonder if someone with that sort of money would feel somewhat vulnerable with so little to disconnect them from the outside world. Plus, can anyone just walk along the beach and loiter under your house? ...

£40m for a bland pile of bricks that's had plenty of cash but no taste thrown at it
