Speaking of converted churches,

Just a little too stark for my liking!
i'd never live in a converted church. IMHO they make awful residences - I've never seen one I liked, they just always seem so awkward and unsuitable for making into rooms, and ungainly to leave open plan. Plus all the stupid corners and funny shaped bits...

No modern bling here, just loads of outdoor space and a rather splendid place to rattle round inside.

that's beautiful. Needs a fair bit of sympathetic sorting inside though.

Seems to be slap bang next to an industrial estate or large agro-industrial complex
The pin is always at the centre of the post code area, the house is further north, but only a little bit.

It's in a worse location for road/space on the corner of Southbrook lane and Spiers Piece, look for the circular grass lawn in front of the house. All of the garden to the south, nothing behind.

I know that won't suit the younger chaps on here but I really like that. Mind youI'm surprised there's not a piano in any rooms

My thought was 'where are the TVs???'. Then I found one in picture 16, which also has a piano.

Blimey chum, you do find some crackers! Lovely.
Would be quite convenient for your line of work, I'd imagine. "Just off to play with my new toys on the plain, be back for tea!" biggrin Have you still got the place in SSM?

As for the mention of bugs, I'd put up with them - they're far less irritating than neighbours.
I do still have the thread place that you discovered in SSM, although it's currently let. Absolutely agree that bugs are better than neighbours!

Old house with what looks like a car showroom tacked on the side, price seems optimistic.

What an abortion.

But architects like that sort of thing. Showing the development history of a property you see.

More to the point so do planners and conservation officers. Which might explain some of the modern steel and glass monstrosities that get tacked onto listed buildings when "in keeping" timber structures get rejected.

if you described the plans it was based on in words, it might sound pretty good. The execution is utterly st, and they've done nothing with the decor and datedness of the rest of the house. It does indeed look just like a car showroom... particularly disappointing in that it has no cars in it!!

Having looked at that again, I am wondering whether it was built like that to fulfil a specific purpose outside of residential. For example a display area, office, studio or to run some sort of business from. It's just too weird.

or maybe the owner's mate is an architect and offered to moonlight on it... only he's an architect of commercial buildings
