Can't decide if this is awesome or rubbish. No garage frown

I really like that. With 4 acres of grounds I'm sure it would be possible to construct a barn-like garage somewhere on the estate.
There is an additional building with 2 garage bays shown on the pdf brochure.
So there is. Ok first stop after winning lottery it is. Although my dog will be piss wet through all the time hmm

The Round Tower is local to me. Was up for £1.5m in 2009. IMO overpriced now.

John Caudwell started phones 4u and given that he is a billionaire he probably isn't shopping for a 3m property. I also believe he isn't married currently, so the wife mentioned earlier suggests it wasn't him.

He's got a huge place about ten miles from Caverswall Castle.

i thought Caudwell had been through a lot of st and is now a slightly weird loner/recluse. Wouldn't be surprised if he was in a different financial situation these days.

He has had issues I think. Divorce, I believe his son has agoraphobia and his whole family has got Lymes disease. I reckon he is still a billionaire though.

how does a whole family get lymes disease, or is that something i don't really want the answer to?

Suitably ruinous for this thread.... Can't help but hear the Father Ted theme tune when I look at the pictures. Nice outlook though

Outlook is great, nearest train station over 35 miles away! Can't be many places in UK that are that far away from nearest station. Now that I've said that I'll probably notice lots! Most of Scotland for starters!
I am pretty sure in The Shetlands the nearest station is in Norway. That does seem like a lot of house for the money, would make a nice hotel.

Wasn't he on the TV program 'Britain's Spending Secrets' with Anne Robinson about money in Britain? Had a mansion in Mayfair or something. Pretty sure they said he was still a billionaire on there. He did seem very secluded though - enormous house with only him in it, cooking himself little meals in his kitchen.. All a bit sad really, considering his fortune.

Getting away from it all without resorting to the Western Isles (lovely though they are). Semerwater is one of the most picturesque parts of the Dales.

Rent out the land to pay the heating bills, spruce up the outbuildings for the car collection you're living slap bang in the middle of some great driving roads.

Looks like it has the potential to relieve you of a substantial amount in bringing it up to modern standards though.

That's lovely, looks so tranquil around there.

You could sell / rent half the land (where it meets at that tight bit in the middle of the map) to pay towards upgrades as you say.

Nice.

Very nice, but the fact that there are almost no photos of the interior suggest a lot of work is required. Lot of land for the money.

Seems so old fashion in its decor and yet it has a pole in the bedroom with a sofa placed in front of it. scratchchin
