Love the interior design, including the purple Aga! What fantastic value, I wonder how much that would cost to build today?
I was reading up about the house after I found the for sale advert, I find places like this fascinating as I am an interior designer I like to find out as much as I can.

One of the things I found was the company who replaced the windows in 2004ish - contract value was £105k+vat, so I think we can safely say that it would cost more than the current price to build. Thats if you could even find 130+acres to build similar on.Copper roof was done in 2005, I can only imagine it was pretty scary cost wise! We did a similar size new build on a comparative sized estate (original house had been demolished) and i think their final was about £4m. Its about the same distance out of Glasgow as this place.

Love this place, belongs to Charles Cadogan's daughter, so would have imagined they have lavished money on it

I noticed that the client for the window refurb was listed as Cadogan Estates so guessed there must have been a connection.

Apart from the outside which looks like a row of offices in Leamington spa.

Not far from me either. Absolutely gorgeous, plenty of PH friendly parking too. It's also just dropped to OIEO £2m after being £2.5m, then £2.25m.
I guess they want it gone after it sold a few years ago for around £2.25m.

As lovely as it is, I'm not sure I how I would feel knowing the previous owner sadly took his own life on the property.

It was locally reported the owner suffered depression, committing suicide by gunshot to the head. He was only 43 and was apparently found his family.
I should imagine that's why the family want it sold.

I probably will never understand depression, but how anyone can own that and be depressed is beyond me!

A couple from Cheshire that I've been dreaming of if the EuroSquillions comes up:

Lots of outbuildings for toys, a lake, up to 330 acres for a racetrack ha ha and close to Oulton Park

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

And a 'compact' country estate. I could even keep my daughter in the same school with this one

In my experience of dealing with people with clinical depression, money and assets are utterly meaningless to the sufferer.
