This has come on the market a few minutes from where I live, and I drive past it twice a day. It's a listed 2 bed cottage & former school house, but there is some restrictive covenant on the garage/barn that can not be used for accommodation purposes.

It's beautifully finished, but the price has floored me - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Used to live not far from there. Sheffield seems to get more expensive by the day. When I was a student there back 20 years ago it was silly cheap

This one seems remarkable value. Nice house, slightly odd layout, big garden with a nice view and a huge PH garage. What's not to like. It can't be that grim up north surely?

That's utterly stunning as a conversion. Brickwork is pristine too.

My only worry is that it might 'echo'...

It is indeed stunning; but as a home?...not so sure.

Also, what happened to the graves from when it was a church?

Google street view is from 2009 and there are some in the grounds.

Agreed, while it may have been a dream assignment for an architect as a home it's not for me. On a cold winter's night one can hardly imagine sprawling on the sofa in one's dressing gown with a glass of red in that great cavernous building.

Not your normal semi-detached. A wing of Dingley Hall, £750,000.

£3,700 of standing charges plus probably at least £1800 of council tax.

£5,500 not including any utilities would be painful.

I really like these sort of places, I can understand the appeal but those charges would be a deal breaker.

(Below is the 'Garage and Staff quarters' also in the Art Deco style which was the bit I was interested in...!)

That was on here a while back i think. Someone gave the info on the roof being renewed.

If it were this place it may be another of those great places that no one is prepared to buy.

And in the Winter it will need about a dozen industrial space heaters constantly on the go...

Surprisingly odd and disappointing interior with modern kitchens and bathrooms and and Victorian sitting rooms but no Art Deco! confused
