To live in Wimbledon? For that money? In a flat?

Darwin will sort it.... just wait a bit.

It'll sell for the location.

I'm sure it will. Good luck to those that buy. Personally, I would rather stick pins in my eyes than move to Wimbledon - but that's as I lived there once wink

I've been here best part of 15 years now, not sure there's anywhere in London I prefer to the village.

Yes, I think it's bloomin' lovely (traffic and monumental property prices aside). Two large for that flat, mind? Goodness.

It's horses/courses isn't it. When I last lived in London it was is a garden flat in Hampstead, having moved through six other places (including several 'villages') in London. I moved from there to villages Berkshire, then Oxfordshire, then the Cotswolds, then the Lake District, then here (Highlands), and the word village is a misnomer, a hope, a dream - it's not a reality is it. It's part of a huge metropolitan city. Too many people, too many cars, too much noise, too much pollution, too much crime, no fresh air, no space - I could go on... not a village at all. And £2m for a 2 bed flat? That would buy almost the whole of the village where I live wink

But if I HAD to move back, Hampstead, Richmond, Belsize Park or Wimbledon would be the places I would consider. Pins in eyes first mind wink

Well, not comparable with your current neck of the woods, but with the connected common, Putney heath and Richmond park we've, what, 4000 or so acres of space on the doorstep, it isn't bad for the smoke.

Not bad indeed. Population density only 3991 per sq km.

Population density here: 2.4 per sq km

(the .4 is a dog)

wink

Don't get me wrong, i like that part of town... as towns go.

If you divide £/mm2 that actually sounds ok.

Also it near cafés and bars so yeah, like, why not?

Neither of those propositions is particularly attractive to me. Horses for courses.

Fair comment. The first was for the first 30 years, the latter is now, but I would have hated this place for the first 30 years of my life. As you say, horses, courses.

(Though I would have LOVED these roads back then!)
