We took an architectural tour in Palm Springs last year.
I must be getting old...

Because that sounds interesting.

I really recommend this tour if you're interested in architecture. I think it lasted about 3 hours and there were only 4 of us on it. These homes were built in the 40's & 50's for the Hollywood set; Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope etc. Palm Springs itself is a fantastic place, hot though!

Ok not the usual thing to put in here, but if you fancy being a real life hobbit this could be a very interesting project/holiday hideaway.

What. The.....
Only £45K more than my first house!!
Unless it comes with a lot of land I can't see that being worth ten grand let alone 90!

Lovely location that, friends have a house near there. That TV lawyer/MP chap whose name I forget has a rather more luxurious earth house a mile or two up the road by the Druidston Hotel.

The owner has lived there for 30 years! How?
Without spending anything on it.
Good for him and his Mrs

Agreed. Suspect that will fetch big money at the auction.

Seriously?! To who? You'd need to be fairly sure you could get PP for a decent bit of work in order to make it workable for 99.9% of the population.

We've had him before.
It's just one half of what's pictured in the first shot, isn't it?

I did my own architecture tour of Palm Springs, mainly trying to find the house from Diamonds are Forever, which I did but it is on a private road where I was given short shrift at the gate.

£2.95m seems really cheap no?

It could be absolutely stunning if you had the money (and wanted to live in East London...)

Its terraced, not the whole street, and on a very, very busy road. Cool house though.

Someone else clearly thinks so, its marked as sold. Big money for the area.

Its a semi so not quite as bad. Its still half of the block shown in that photo which is quite extensive.

£650 a ft though I guess is quite a lot for the area.

£650 isnt too bad actually, but on bigger properties like that, its quite hard to price off £/sq ft. Theres streets not far away from there, just set back from the main road, which are regularly priced and sold at £1k sq/ft, which seems about the max at the moment for the area.

The issue with this place is the main roads its on is busy and not overly nice.

However cool the place is, and however wonderful the building, its hard to pay £3m for a house thats basically sandwiched between a top tiles warehouse and a halfords / asda on the main road in / out of east london.

The planning folk are tough over there it's true but the location will make it worth the risk for someone.
