Ok not the usual thing to put in here, but if you fancy being a real life hobbit this could be a very interesting project/holiday hideaway.

Porch/Shower room rofl

The owner has lived there for 30 years! How?
Without spending anything on it.
Good for him and his Mrs
Agreed. Suspect that will fetch big money at the auction.
I love that. What a perfect bolt-hole.

A bit of diy and maybe the odd professional for a few days and that could be made ok.

People pay more than that for a beach hut. Would love that as a little project.

That's a great site!

Here's another modern which is a bit from left field: http://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-qld-ca...

Terrible for the commute to work...

I like a modern but that Aussie one is not a treat for the eyes, too many clashing angles, reminds me of something from an old Adam West Batman TV programme.

Stained concrete, just like run down inner city concrete buildings and car parks.

Concrete is a fantastic, but very ugly, building material. You'd have to be mad to leave it exposed with that design, brutalist buildings use plain concrete to some effect, but it does not make sense on that house. The angles make it look like the underside of a motorway bridge with the big concrete support arms.

That house is disgusting.
Almost as bad as London for VFM. £3.75 mil and half an acre....

Yes I'd agree the interior is very bland, and the garden areas could do with some planting up too. But to me it would be a great base to make my own, loads of space, well laid out, good location and a fantastic view out over the golf course.

Quick project ? Fifty strides outside the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a really beautiful part of the world, just up the road from me.

Quick? It would take years to fix all that, but if done right would be wonderful.

For a listed property, needing that much work, in Yorkshire - seems massively overpriced.

It's one of a number of houses which the owner has. This particular one was loosely based on the image in profile of an Australian aboriginals head which was on a postage stamp. That's the shape of the pool, and that cut out in the roof, and the wings containing the house radiate outwards. It cost something like $AUD15m to build. Price dropped to $AUD8m and now it's 'vendor sells sell!!!'

It was a tongue in cheek statement, it has the potential to be fabulous, it's a beautiful part of the world .

Obviously the listed aspects can be restrictive, the farmhouse we live in had five separate listed features but we managed to work well with English Heritage when we rebuilt it. Not sure about the Yorkshire comment......God's own Country !.....
