Nice outside but inside looks like a retirement home.
Reading the listing suggests it kinda is.

That's too much. I like modern, but that looks cramped and overlooked. Bit too shouty for me. Scaled down version and some seclusion would be way better. and a secret room. got to have a secret room for that price

Tasty garage though. And there's a chopper!

LA is a wierd place. In a way when I was there I sort of hated it a lot of the time; it's just a fking sprawl of traffic hell which goes on forever. On the other hand, there is something strangely captivating and glamorous about the place. Driving along Mullholland through the Hollywood hills made me want to live there a lot!

I would love a place with an infinity pool stuck up in the hills looking over the city, but perhaps not a quarter of a billion dollar (how ridiculous!) one.

The cars and staff are rented and the helicopter doesn't even run. It's a 40m dollar gaff rolled in crystals

Is it a hotel? I wouldn't want that as my house, you'd need a lots of "friends" to fill it up!

If you had the sort of money to be able to afford a place like this, I don't think "friends" would be a problem hehe

I don't know if this has been on yet?

The house has some nice and some not-so-nice features, but I want it for that underground "leisure suite" alone - the pool is utterly spectacular! cloud9

How about this former mill near Dursley on the edge of the Cotswolds? For approx the price of a terraced house in london.

I found it on Rightmove instead as that website is infuriating. You can't stop the pictures from running through, so just as I'm having a good look the next picture fades in (which is also a highly annoying effect to use).

Here is the link if anyone else is annoyed beyond reason by the estate agent website-

In all seriousness, I don't care how much money you have. 38,000 feet of house needs full time staff (5 to 7) of them. You may as well live in a hotel. My old neighbour built a 45,000 sf house and it is like a hotel. He spends most of his time in the summer house to escape the numerous cleaners, gardeners etc. Whats the bloody point, except to wave your wallet in everyones face. He also has to employ someone to watch all the staff because he thinks they are stealing his stuff, like the gold cutlery and his 5k a bottle wine.

This is one just down the road from me, stunning place.
Used to be owned by a friend, so been in the house/pool a few times.

Once owned by Barry Sheen.

In the village next door to the Elizabethan house I posted above, is this recently restored rectory. This to me, is perfect and all I would ever need (well maybe slightly more garage space).

A few decor changes would be done, but generally Lovely Lovely Lovely.
Agreed. Lovely place and still looks like a warm family home despite the size.
