That NZ house looks hideously over-priced to me.

Obviously, it's priced fine, as the local market will dictate that, but i can't see VFM in it anyway.
I had to look at the exchange rate, expecting $3-4 to the £. Nope, 1.8.

So that place is about £835,000. Reduced from about £1,060,000. Which seems like a lot, although I don't even remotely know the area.

Nice place though, although I'm not a fan of high shine, darkish wood.

That is lovely. Why no pic of the view though? You can just about tell it's amazing through a windows in the back of one of the early shots.

It's a nice place but what really gets me is it's a 7K sq ft house. It's what some would call approaching mansion size. The kitchen is small. The lounge is very small. Dining room...very small. As a family we spend a considerable amount of time in the kitchen area. Mine is 3X the size and i still wish it were bigger.

The kitchen is 27ft 4in x 15ft 11in, so yours must be around 75ft x 45ft?

There is more than one kitchen in that house, and it isn't even Ed Miliband's smile

That would make it 7.75 times larger, not 3 times.

Whatever, 27x15 is not small.

However, I think the proportions are a bit "off". The central pediment and entablature are too narrow and "pinched" for my tastes, whilst the wings are too long in comparison.
Yet the relationship between acquired synesthesia and emotional memories are clear to see, with influences and new variations that are synthesised from both opaque and transparent discourse.

What starts out as triumph soon becomes debased into a cacophony of defeat, leaving only a sense of unreality and the dawn of a new beginning.

As spatial derivatives become reconfigured through diligent and personal practice, the viewer is left with a tribute to the darkness of our future.

At last! Someone on my own level.

I think we can both agree that this building mimics the spirit of decorativeness and yet is diametrically opposed to the spirit which animates architecture, which is the art of building, the social art above all others.

This is the sound of Will Self giving Stephen Bayley a reach around.

Its down to the location really. Its near 3000sqft and 2.6Ha of land.
Ocean and mountain views in a very small rural village.

Nestled down here somewhere

yet its only 25min from the countries second largest city CBD

A little bit further out gets you something similar (in size at least) for half the price, 50min commute.

Chc average house prices range from $370k to $660k, not many semi's here usually is a 100-130sqm 3 bed bungalow on 500-600sqm at the low end.

House pricing is high though, relatively low rates, high demand and a lot of wealthy immigration plus lowish average wage means its not so affordable. Auckland average is over $1mil now. Average NZ wage is about $55k

Middle of a council estate, have a look @ Lilleshall close on street view.
