This could be very nice. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Though I guess the works could cost anything from £150k-£650k, depending on what you find and the spec?

Really like that. It doesn't look too bad in the pictures. That, and the price, makes me think that "complete renovation" means "major structural works".

Challenging one I think. This planning entry suggests deep pockets required:

S.13/1194/LBC – The Lawn, Selsley Road, North Woodchester – Partial reduction of wall to safe height.
The Parish Council considered this application and objects.
The application is for a Grade II listed building and the wall in question forms an integral part of that
building. Had proper maintenance occurred, this situation would not have arisen. The Parish Council
would recommend the wall be taken down and re-built to its existing form.

G2 listing is here:

Great location, I love Edgeworth, a real hidden village with houses rarely available, but £6m house and the kitchen is such a disappointment. The actual bricks and mortar is lovely.

Looking around stuff that's sold round there it looks like it's overpriced by about a factor of 3 doesn't it?! Absolutely beautiful mind you. But just seems silly priced. Is it an amazing village? Not heard of it before.

£2M in the Scottish Borders, 44 acres and trout fishing on the River Tweed less than 40 miles from Edinburgh with a rail link 3 miles away. A lot of bang for your buck!!

A beautiful house, without question.
Just wait for them to get their independence and in a few years they won't be able to give it away!

Generally nice but I would have to have a grenade and a bucket of magnolia ready for that dining room! eek

As half of one of 'them' i'm hoping they hold off a couple of decades until I'm ready to buy my Scottish Castle and 1000 acres.

Not so long ago one of those rooms in that house probably had four families without a pot to piss in living in them

I'd rather pay the same money for the Scottish one... (Never mind 1/4 as much)
Each to their own, I suppose.

I drive passed the for sale boards for this.

http://www.knightfrank.co.uk/properties/residentia...

It sounds like just a bit of farm land on the boards what it fails to mention is the grass air strip and hangars . Could make a cool house with air field

Aside from his dining room wall paper, Mr Paul Murray has good taste!
How do people end up as directors like that...? I need to sort my life out.

It's not often I'd put the word 'only' in front of £1,200,000. But...
