OP- have you considered changing the direction of the door to open outwards rather than into the room?]
Not that they'd know but Building Regs take a dim view of it as you could propel someone coming up the stairs back down again...
thanks for that- as I was considering doing mine so saved the hassle hehe

Incidentally we have the same problem, but far more tight. Our bathroom is 1600x1700 so you've got a palace comparatively. I've just delayed actually doing anything to the bathroom as I am too scared to think about how to make it more useful.

If an opening out door will punt innocent children down the stairs, how about a sliding door?

Am I the only one thinking that getting it all from bathstore is a bad idea?

would not touch their showers or shower screens with a bargepole.

I would take your time and hunt around for the individual bits.

For example a bathstore shower kit was several hundred and not very good quality, I ended up looking a phoenix and found something similar to this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Phoenix-VP009-3-Way-Show...

For about that price 3 years ago.

Same goes for their toilets, etc... once the costs are all worked out, it was cheaper and better quality to pick up the ones I wanted from several companies and get them shipped across.
yes

When we did our bathroom, the plumber looked at our Bathstore shopping list and said things like "those are made by X, you can get them cheaper direct", and "those come straight from the plumbers merchants, they're about 20% of that price", and tellingly 'I can get you much better quality or the same price" etc etc. Also, Bathstore's post-sales support and warranty is diabolical (speaking from experience). I wouldn't go anywhere near them again, other than perhaps to look at their displays for ideas; they do have everything presented well in the showrooms but it seems that the positive points (other than, perhaps, convenience) stop right there.

I got a bi fold door on my bathroom... works perfectly well.

No room for proper door as the space is 2000x1500

I'd suggest a bullet proof door.

I'm also not a fan of the Bathstore shower screens, it is the only item we had from Bathstore and the only thing that really lets our bathroom down.

^I had one in my previous bathroom and was always worried about smashing the glass. Went for a Majestic slidescreen this time and it's a step up in quality and functionality.

Also can't see from your pics if it is, but wall hung WC will make room look bigger due to seeing floor underneath.
Excellent idea. My bathroom is also small; I used vanitory units and wall-mounted them so there's a 6-7" gap underneath. Really makes a difference!

Would be interested to find out more. Any links to the company you used/pics/price range fitted?

Is it in the hallway rather than an ensuite, and if so is it as good at insulating noise as a normal door?

Just used a B&Q door after sorting the bathroom out into a wetroom. Its the main bathroom and to be honest the noise (after a sponge/rubber strip to block the view through) is no more worse than the normal door that was there before.

Its in the hallway and yes when doing the rest of the flat I will swap it out for a matching door (solid oak bi-fold door) but it does the job very well at the moment despite the other half thinking it wouldnt.

I'd loose the screen idea to. As said they get in the way but worse theyre not the best at keeping the water where its meant to be. Add kids and your bathroom will be getting soaked leading to more maintenance painting and probably a knackered ceiling underneath.

My bi-fold bathroom - works really well - our bathroom is very long and narrow - it comes as a kit - father-in-law fitted it - it still needs painting/finishing off by me - been like that for 3 years......

Finally have the budget now to progress this. Factored in guidance in this thread and ditched the duel sink in favour of a single.

The previous approach of moving the existing stack pipe outside is proving to be way too much work for little reward. So, new plan is as follows.

The stack pipe in the corner is cast so I intend to cut in the kitchen below the bathroom and make the everything upwards redundant, including what pokes out the roof. I'll have to do it in sections as I know it will weigh a fair amount.

I'll then marry it to 110mm plastic, T off towards the toilet and provide waste connections for the bath and sink into the T. The boxing is reflected as transparent but will not be. I'll run the soil pipe as high as I can and use an AAV to top it off.

Thoughts?

Excuse the crap drawing, I've changed the design some many times, I've given up making it pretty. Dimensions are correct though.

Bath rotated 90 degrees along window wall
No, the window then becomes a water trap. I cannot stand it when people have done this.

If using bi fold doors, not an issue, if not why not switch the bath around the other way so the bulge is near (assuming off your scale plans) but not touching the window?

Would save the bath from getting a battering from the door being swung open.

The bath has to go that way round because the first floor of the house is pitched and tiled. Inside the room, it means that the walls are vertical for 1700mm off the floor and then come into the room at around 10-15 degrees. The shower screen is too high to fit.

I'll have to put a bump stop on the floor to catch the door when swung open.

2 women in the house... I would have a little bit more than a bump stop... I swear my OH has almost ripped the door off its slider when in a pissed off mood... "I don't know what happened, I just opened it" will be the last thing you hear after the smash of toughened glass.

Sounds familiar, every door reveal downstairs is cracked. 3 women in my house, wife, 13 y/o and a 6 y/o. And a 3 y/o boy.

The shower screen doesn't have a chance does it.
