If the garden is small I have a Brill razor cut push mower and it is great, much better than my flymo.

. Don't be put off that it is push straight away, it only weighs about 7kg I think and is very easy to push (as long as you keep on top of it) and is a doodle to use.

My garden is about 8m x 10m and I have it mowed in the time it took me to sort out extension cable etc.

And your lawn will be much nicer too, as the flymo hacks the grass, where as cylinder slices it. My lawn is now much more thick and lush.

Just bought one that has zero emissions as well. A manual rotary, around 80m2 to mow. Easy peasy every couple of days. No leccy lead to faff around with or petrol to store etc.

Edit. Got it to replace my flymo. Hover not the best for collecting grass, gets heavier and harder to push as yo go along. Think of it this way, unless it has driven wheels, you have to push it anyway. The manual one has a grass collection thingy but if you do it every couple of days, leave the cutting down to mulch in. Mine is an AL-KO.

No, just walking pace, but I find the quicker I walk I don't have to physically push it at all, if that makes sense.

I've got a Bosch Rotak which is pretty light and folds fairly small. I'd recommend it.

This . I have two, and they're fantastic for a leccy mower, even does striped too smile

The tiny lawn at my old house done with a 75 quid rotak 34, .

I now have 43 for the bigger lawn at my new place. Pretty good price at b&q

Another vote for the Bosch Rotak. They come in different flavours & prices but it's cheap(ish) and very good at what it does. I find the lawn a bit of a chore. This makes it pretty easy, and the roller stripes it nicely too, which isn't the kind of thing I'd normally bother with, but it looks great.

And another vote for the Bosch Rotak Ergoflex - picked up a 34cm version for £80 a year or two ago and v pleased with it.

I wasn't go to say anything but as you've mentioned it... I find the vertical handles much more comfortable than the horizontal bar. Can't quite put my finger on why (bad pun - sorry!) but they do feel more natural.

Really recommend these. Check around for prices, amazon tend to be cheap. Iv had mine for 3 years and still works flawlessly.

Another recommendation for the electric Bosch rotarys.

I've got the older Qualcast Easitrak version and use it in preference to my much heavier (petrol) Honda Izy wherever possible.
