Finally Moved but greeted with this...

What was worse was that they moved literally next door so I share a boundary with them now. Bizarre!
My next door neighbour built a house in his back garden (about 4 acres) and moved in. When they sold their original house (now with a much smaller garden) they got a lot less than they wanted for it (probably because of a small garden and a house pretty close...). They removed the wall lights (left bare wires) and the integrated microwave and coffee machine - despite having no need whatsoever for them. New neighbours obviously pissed off and a swift letter sorted it out. Original neighbour didn't have the balls to sort it himself and sent one of his employees to sort it! 4 years on and they still aren't speakingWhen we sold our first house, I thought I'd be nice and leave a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates in the fridge for the new owner.
Annoyingly, I also left in there the champagne, charcuterie selection, cheese board, olives, bread, strawberries and double cream I'd got as our moving in supper.
When I see a thread like this, I always wonder whether the new owner would've just seen as a lovely surprise, or would've spent the next few days wondering what was wrong with the house!

Hmmm, i would have been wondering what was wrong.
Anyway, get home last night to a further 3 blown downlighters. Grrr what cheap tat bulbs have they used? or is there an electrical gremlin? 13 downlighters in the hall/bathroom (not correct type over the shower either) & 8 in the kitchen, so far i have changed 8, with another 3 to do. LED time i think.

Every property I have ever moved out of has been left immaculate for the new owners. And apart from my current house which was a tip when I moved in, every place I've ever moved to has been fine too.
I wasn't surprised to find my current house left in a dreadful state by the previous pig, the whole buying selling process was fraught and relations were at rock bottom by the time contracts were signed.

That's pretty bad.
We moved into our house the former owners moved out 6 hours late, left a double garage full of crap, a loft full of crap, cupboards full of crap and a garden literally full of piles of stinking crap thanks to their 3 dogs that they had also decided to not clear.
Disgusting pigs.
we must have bought our house from the same people. They left the cooker as well, so filthy we couldn't work out how they hadn't died of food poisoning We moved into our house the former owners moved out 6 hours late, left a double garage full of crap, a loft full of crap, cupboards full of crap and a garden literally full of piles of stinking crap thanks to their 3 dogs that they had also decided to not clear.

Previous owners left my house spotless and left an orchid for my wife as she had complimented them on the one they had on our viewing.
They also replaced a rose bush they took with them when they left with a new one.
What he found was the body of the husband who had committed suicide.
Always check the loft!

I got a load of 70s porn mags left in my loft. Previous owner was a woman who claimed to have never been up there.
My Grandfather in law bought a house from a woman who claimed the same after her husband had run out on her. She said that he used to keep his tools up there and my GIL could have anything he found up there...What he found was the body of the husband who had committed suicide.
Always check the loft!

240v GU10's.
I have been using these at home and for customers, and am pleased with the results. Not to expensive, and theres a Toolstation in progress road or opposite screwfix in Basildon.http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Lighting/LED+Lamps...
There is a huge thread on here about the LED GU10's, and im sure some will have other opinions.

When we moved the garden was so over grown that we found a garage and a air raid shelter. I kid you not.
That's the second time today I have been reminded about the PHer with the german bunker in his garden. Wonder what ever happened with that...OP this is bad, so my sumpathies, but in my experience, the crappiness is often outweighed hy the feeling when everything is finally in and you can sit down in the garden with a cuppa, and survey your new manor thinking 'all mine!' and the fun you're going to have there.

yes, latest "update" on that thread was 2 yrs ago (blimey that long!), I'd almost forgotten about it until yesterday when I got reminded twice from unconnected PH threads on.The house i bought last year was empty, so at least i knew what i was getting.
Or at least i thought so. A third of the plot the house is built on is unregistered land, something my solicitor failed to spot. My solicitor and the vendors solicitor have been trying since last year to get adverse possession on that piece of land, but every time they get close the LR comes back wanting more info.
Hopefully one day it'll get resolved.....
