^^ Split personality disorder smile? The magnolia/dark fireplace surround seems strange with the other room being more modern.

Its an Edwardian house, but was stripped of all its character, I actually put the fireplace back in to give the room a focal point, otherwise it looked a little bare, there is no TV either, its almost the Parlour ! The 'other' room was 2 bedrooms, we knocked out the walls and deliberately made it more modern, we probably spend most of our time there, but I do like spending time downstairs just reading, listening to music.

I also really like this.
I've not seen many interiors commit as much as you have to the one style and it works well.

Love the old GPlan / Ercol furniture.

I actually arrange restorations for it.
Can't bear seeing it go to fire wood
Wish I'd seen this last year. I got rid of a huge g-plan sideboard

Our room; an oasis of calm (mostly).

Apologies for the poor quality photos.

A quick tweak in Lightroom (PH sometimes plays up - with my server... re-visit if you can't see pic!)

If you mean the teak one, I have no idea, I got it on Ebay for 250 cad, and had the cushions re upholstered for another 200.... it is danish of some kind, but the manufacturer is unknown, I like the curve of the arms, which have a lovely used sheen to them.

The other one is a 1960's fibreglass eames chair (another ebay purchase)

Both are v comfortable !

Looks very similar to the colour I've got in my lounge - it's called Potters Wheel (dulux)

Heh, snap. Lovely colour, visitors often comment and ask what it is.

Funnily enough, that's partly why I asked. I'm thinking of swapping out my current living room armchair for one of the Ikea ones. I'd love the Hans Wegner cigar chair, but I can't justify the price. How comfortable do you find the IKEA one?

It's very comfortable, although probably haven't sat in it for more than an hour at a time. I would recommend trying it out, although I don't think it's a big seller for them, our local Ikea had one on display to try, but it was not available to take away, it was delivery only.

My local appears to have them in stock, so I'll give it a bash. I'd be hoping for something perhaps comfortable enough for longer than that, but I'll give it a try and see how it feels!

I love all of that. A real nice eclectic mix of style and furniture.

I haven't got any pictures of ours, but Mrs Vroom makes most of the choices when it comes to our decorating. It's quite colourful with plenty of floral stuff. She lives in a house with three boys (if you include me!) so I can understand why she want a bit of feminine decor!
