What was your reasoning in using popups where standard wall sockets were an option?
I hate cables and wall clutter. biggrin

As I say, mildly risky but it worked out perfectly. (For us at least, everyone's different).

To be honest the sockets barely get used except for USB as all appliances are integrated and powered elsewhere. Got sockets in the cupboards so I can hide my blender and baby bottle warmer etc. there's nothing on the Worktop except kettle. haha.

We have them and they are constantly in use for one thing or another. Excellent!

Another thumbs up for Evoline products here - we spent a fair amount on three pop ups which are all stainless steel with blue LED lighting around the ring and each pop up has electrical sockets, USB chargers slots as well as CAT6 points. This being on the basis that both the kitchen island and peninsula are where we spend a lot of time - they're being well used for charging iPhones, plugging in laptops for work / homework.

We can get in to the area under the sockets by removing a panel (held by magnets I think) so no bother about the minimal amount of crumbs that might go down the gaps.

You can have them customised from Germany and shipped over here: http://www.evolinestore.com/consoles/inbouw/port.h...

Not cheap but top quality product compared to some other plastic looking pop-up sockets. Most of the time ours are like this:

Bit of a thread revival on these, are the evo-line ones above still considered the best?

I'm most concerned about being able to plug in and drop the thing down I think if I'm honest, a simple cable hole might be easiest...
