Boxing in fuse box/gas meter - any rules?
Discussion
The gas meter should be in a vented enclosure if you box that in. For the electrics, just build a box round it, but make sure you leave room for any future works or maintenance on the existing gear. At some point the meters will need changing so bear that in mind for access, as it will be down to you to remedy the situation if you block anything in.
Nothing wrong with boxing in the gas meter. But either make it removable or make the opening big enough so that you can access the entire meter so it could be removed. Also need to make the shut off valve and test nipple accessible.
It must also be ventilated high and low to 2% of the floor area of the enclosure IIRC. Naff all basically, just two small vents top and bottom of the enclosure.
