Hi,

We have been to lot's of nice hotels over the last couple of years and they always seem to have very nice bed sheets and covers etc, I gather these are likely to be Egyptian Cotton, but these kinds of products do not seem readily available on the high street, so I was wondering what grade/type of sheets one should go for and where to source them at a sensible price?

Any tips would be gratefully received.

Thanks

We've got a couple of sets of it. It's lovely stuff and good quality but pricey (my mum has a fair few sets and you're looking at around £500 to £600 for some king size bedding sets....).

Hey

Go to house of fraser and buy some sheridan.

Alternatively some high-end department store brands at 300-500 count egyptian cotton are good.

New Year sales are the best time to buy this kind of stuff I find as it is horrendously expensively without discounting.

We went through the same thought but when we went to HoF they had another (own?) brand on offer at far under Sheridan (although that is good stuff). I think we got a KS duvet set and fitted sheet for £250-270 and I cant recall exactly but it was high thread count, 500 or 1000. Sounds expensive compared to basic stuff but it really is (excuse the pun) night and day different. Well worth the extra.

If your looking for the best then it will be Frette or Pratesi, these sets are not cheap and best bought in the sale, but will last a lifetime if cared for properly and only get better with age, Harrods normally have these sets 50% off in the sale but you would still looking at paying £900 even in the sale but it will be the only set of linen you will ever need to buy.

Our set it now 20 years old and is unmarked

I am not sure we can afford that sadly, but we want to make the bed as comfy as possible!

Have a look at the House of Fraser website - they have a sale on  but there are KS sets in their own brand, Linea, at 500 thread count, allegedly marked down from £320 to £96.

+2 for Sheridan and Just Linen is the cheapest place we have found it.
