Yes. Not bad.

I've got a couple of iRobot Roomba 780s. I wasn't expecting it to be much use, as it's a bit like a battery-powered floor sweeper. I was pleasantly surprised and then bought a second one. Still need to vacuum the stairs and sometimes the bathroom if we've had the hairdresser in. Useful for the odd spot clean on unexpected mess too.

I haven't got pets it should mention.

Has a roomba a few years back

Waste of money to be honest. Its a carpet sweeper at best, and not even very good at that as it sweeps in a random way thus not getting all the floor.
Oh.. And they get confused when sweeping... Forget where the base is and run out of battery in a other room

We've got a Roomba 880. It's not the entire answer - as above you need to do the stairs and tricky corners manually. However it's great for keeping on top of the cat hair, and as there is less mess in the hall, there is less to get tramped up the stairs, so it needs doing less regularly. Expensive, but it was part funded as a (very late) Christmas present.

+1 have had two roombas

Think of them more as not very smart floor sweepers rather than vacuum cleaners and your not far from the mark. They love to get stuck in simple places and have no idea of height, mine would wedge itself under bed frames, sofa etc even after placing barriers stratigiecly around the house. Coming back after it's been on, it was a good game trying to find the stupid thing. Still it was easier than cleaning myself and I did notice the difference when it wasn't being used. Still had to do other vacuums too, it just did regular top ups as another poster has mentioned before.

Both of mine broke, first one under warrenty within nine months. Replaced with no issues from lakeland. Second failed in a similar timescale and it was not able to be replaced. They are made with some very cheap plastic gears and bearing inside the sweeper that fail easily. Lots of info online about this. Newer ones may be better now though. I didn't bother wasting a few hundred on a new one though. I don't mind spending quite a lot of cash on a bit of a gimmicky toy, but it needs to work reliably and last for a long time, this didn't and was a waste of cash.

A battery powered floor sweeper such as a gtech air ram is probably where I'll spend some money next. It seems like a far simpler solution that should be reliable with none of the hassle associated with the roomba. But I will have to push it round the house weeping

Same thing goes for the robot lawn mowers too, and there is no way that they would get a good stripe!
