We get the keys to our first house on Thursday!

At the wise old ages of 32&28 (I'm 32 my other half is younger) we are finally getting the keys to our own home!

With a lot of help from her family we have managed to buy a nice house in a local desirable village

Cant bloody wait!

Lots of decorating to do as buying from an elderly couple who have moved just around the corner to a bungalow but lived in the house for years and years! (bless them even been around keeping the garden in ship shape whilst all the legal process going through! went round at the weekend to have a look and check everything was ok as the house is empty and all the lawn was freshly mown and garden checked over!)

It all blooming well better go through fine, there is no chain at all... money is already with solicitor for our deposit etc....

Just a case of people pushing money (albeit a lot of it!) around on thursday morning

Congrats and best of luck!

I'm in a similar situation at the moment just waiting for the keys...

If you need to buy any paint or other DIY stuff check out Wickes... Dulux trade is 3 for 2 and there are £10 off £50 or £20 off £100 vouchers on the vouchercodes site which you can use multiple times but run out on Sunday, I've saved a small fortune so far!

If visiting Wickes, check prices very carefully, and pick and choose what you buy.

If I said what I really think.............

I've found these people pretty good. I'm not sure how they compare on price though it's free next day delivery over a certain amount. Good for me as it's a long way to the nearest DIY shed.

Thanks for the wishes

Also the tips!

I thought Wickes were ok?

Got some laminate flooring to put down from them. It had good reviews on the web and was on offer.

I used to rent a flat and the landlord was ok with me decorating it however i liked (sensibly obviously!) but i bought all the paint from Homebase, own brand stuff....... never again!

Just gunna get Dulux or Crown this time, might be a little mroe expensive but you dont need 5 coats of it to get a decent finish!

Good luck to you too!

So your username.... have you got a corrado TDi? If so what engine did you use for the conversion?

I've got a 91 scirocco and always fancied getting another one for doing a TD conversion!.....
