got a packet of these sitting about that i'd like to use for something

what sized drill bit do i use, says M6 on the shaft

sorry for such a simple question

Can't be certain off that picture, but it looks the same as a Rawlbolt and for a 6mm rawl you use a 12mm drill bit.
To be sure measure the expanding case O/D and drill at that size:

thanks guys, no it doesnt say on the outside, usually it does!

Just says M6 which is the bolt i guess

This I'd say, I slacken the case so its not expanded at all then measure itor if im being lazy I'll other up the masonary bits to the end and see which look right

Hold drills in line with the end of it until you find one that's the right diameter. Just use your eyes.

perfect - was away from my tools so was just trying to check before i got home incase i needed to grab any extra bits

it was 12mm
