Has anyone else had an inordinate amount of butterflies in the house this year? I have just evicted about twenty of them from my bedrooms/landing. Funnily enough, none were downstairs. I remember having a few indoors last year, but nowhere near this amount. Is there such a thing as a butterfly infestation?

we have a lot more this year - its great! Mostly cabbage whites and a few red admirals, the cat goes crazy with them

The number of slugs seems to have tripled too though which is not so good.

No, but I found several hibernating Red Admirals in my garage earlier in the year. They looked dead until you warmed them up. Quite why they flew in there I have no idea; I've never noticed them in the 25 years before.

I presume it's the sunny weather - we have loads of Buddleia in our garden and they are covered in butterflies perhaps 200 in the garden at a time - in previous years it's more like 10.

They may have been hibernating behind wardrobes etc and woken up late depending on if you're house is cool?
