I'm more concerned about the personnel door and the window, as the wain door is pretty secure.
Have you already secured both of these?

Window: Window grille. Job, jobbed!

Door: 5-lever mortice lock + mortice rack bolts top and bottom + hinge bolts + London and Birmingham bars on door frame. Sorted! (Assuming it's a decent wooden door, which doesn't need reinforcing itself.)

Done this loads of times, we normally just use the lamp on the opener to switch a relay that sits in parallel with any contact or sensor in the garage or preferably triggers a zone programmed as exit guard (Honeywell) this gives enough time to park up get out and disarm the alarm, bending the rules but still mostly conforming to the current standards BS8243 PD6662 2010. However yes you can also connect the relay to a key switch zone looking for a momentary input which will unset the alarm, not so thing we would advise ourselves but doable, just make sure the the alarm does not set every time you shut the door biggrin Nearly all alarm panels will support this feature in one way or another however the terminology does change, key switch, lock set, exit guard to name but a few....

Thanks for the feedback. I'd pretty much decided to go for your first suggestion anyway. The installer is setting it up today.
