Combi Boilers - Help!
Discussion
So, I need a new boiler as the house is being extended and the existing Worcester is too small/unreliable. I've been looking online for reviews and Reviewcentre seems to trash Worcester with a 2/5 from over 100 reviews whereas other sites can't recommend them enough. So, confused!
Any experts out there can help/advise/point in good direction?
Cheers!

My dads a self employed heating engineer and for the past 10 years has only fitted Valliant Ecotech. He used to only fit Worster but found them to be really poor quality and really unreliable.
He was also saying that parts are cheap, they're incredibly reliable, easy to service and all the things that need looking at or replacing aren't in awkward areas that require you to take the entire boiler to pieces to get to which therefore cuts down on the amount of time he is there and therefore how much he charges the customer.
Hope this helps you decide. I'd just make sure that you get a plumber in to estimate on the size of boiler you need because if you get one too small you won't get any heating in the areas furthest away from the boiler as it won't be strong enought to heat the water and pump it to the furthest room.

Worcester Bosch were my premium boiler of choice, but I'm shying away from the now. I'm not too impressed with the new compact range. Things are crammed in too tight and allegedly there is no way of adjusting the gas valve. So if the combustion settings need fine tuning a few years down the line, you need to replace the entire gas valve!
The only Worcester I fit now is the CDI Classic. Its a lump of a boiler, but they seem to be the most reliable of them all.
The Ideal Logic + is my "budget" choice of boiler, they currently have 7 Year Warranties on them too. I've fitted two of them for customers. Nice to fit, well thought out and no issues thus far.
Glowworm produce a boiler especially for City Plumbing Supplies, called the Ultimate. Very well priced, again very well layed out and comes with either a 5 or 7 year warranty depending on which model you go for.
As for which premium brand I'm going to use from now on, I'm unsure. Most likely Vaillant, but they are pretty much the most expensive units available.
Viessmann seem to be getting good reviews, but I'm yet to see one running in the flesh.
