As the title says, we have sanded our stairs, spindles and hand rail back to bare wood. We would like to finish it with something that darkens the wood as little as possible. We like the colour of the bare wood but realise that it needs protecting. We have considered varnish and Osmo Polyx 'raw' oil but both darken the wood considerably. I realise that it may not be possible to achieve the look we are seeking, but you never know......Any ideas?

transparent in colour can be thinned down,if needed.
Couple of coats and a clear wax should do you.
