Hi all,

I am in need of a conveyancing solictor for a sub £200k flat purchase in Herts. Effectiveness and diligence are more important than a few £ on price.

Thanks in advance.

John (Rude Boy) of this parish comes highly recommended. Maybe not the cheapest but you certainly won't feel it's poor value for money. Diligent in the extreme.

I can recommend Browns, they handled conveyancing for us three times in the last 15 years, we've more recently switched to Jamie Barrett http://www.barrettlaw.co.uk/conveyancing-solicitor... - you won't go wrong with either of them.

I on the other hand wouldn't touch these guys again with someone else's barge pole. Totally useless and pathetic.

More than one negative experience with these people.

GCL Solicitors in Camberley have always been good for me on smaller transactions.

Ditto. Slow, non-proactive and generally just crap customer service.

Not only that, but in one instance when I was using one branch of theirs and the vendor was using another branch, they couldn't even communicate directly and efficiently between offices for fks sake.

I don't mind stupid people - they can't help it. Incompetent s are another matter all together!

I've used Andrew Orriss at Neves LLP in Luton a few times.
