Hi
Can anyone recommend a provider ? I've had a letter saying ERIC insurance have gone bust. This was the policy I bought through Adrian Flux. Also in this instance who is liable for the refund of premium as I paid Flux directly? Thanks.

We use ecclesiastical, one of very few companies willing to cover our house (which flooded in the 90's...)

We had to deal with the ERIC situation, albeit back in March and so things may have progressed since) but the info we had was that policies would continue and cover provided by he FSCS, only 90% though. We were also instructed that no refunds were available for cancellations and no adjustments could be done.

Luckily, we managed to move our clients before it really hit and managed to get cancellation refunds.

Please feel free to PM me if you need any detailed advice or just want to chat things through.

Cheers
Steve

What's the specialist nature? Ie certain items or to cover a thatch roof etc. Chubb Master(something) seem to be recommended a lot and if it's the building which is of specialist nature then NFU seem good. Insurance Jon will probably be along in a mo with better info. Eta... Or Steve by the looks of it, we posted at the same time!

Hi,
Its the main roof because its 'flat' as in it slopes (gently) but it's felt covered, then the other roofs are 'flat' but are fibreglass Tuff Roof. Mainstream insurers don't want to know.

The policy expires mid October, the letter from ERIC says I'm covered until 30th September so the premium would be about £25 owed so not worth arguing for. I'm pissed off that Adrian Flux have not been in contact.
Thanks

Try the NFU. Try a quote online (possibly refused) then follow up with a call to the nearest NFU office.

We had a nightmare getting insurance on our flat roofed Art Deco house. For some years I used insure4retirement.co.uk but their prices went up a LOT a couple of years ago. I then moved to homeprotect.co.uk who were pretty reasonable by comparison.

Wow thanks just got a quote from Homeprotect £200!! That's less than half what I paid last year !
