Fully agreed here. I used to sell carpet, so I like to think I know a bit.
Cloud 9, middle of the range is great. The thicker stuff makes a nightmare with doors etc. But spend on the underlay, do not buy the rubber stuff. It makes your carpet wear better, look better, and walking on it is a huge difference. Im really fussy about carpets now, people always do cheap.
Walked into a friends the other day, and first thing I commented, nice underlay. His reply, yer, some cloud 9 stuff I was told to get. It really does make the difference!
when you say middle of the range do you mean thickness wise, I was looking at the 9mm, is it best to go thicker?Cloud 9, middle of the range is great. Ah, thanks all.
I wasn't expecting the topic to get any love
Regarding underlay, that will need replacing as its pretty old and probably knackered.
Closest big city is Brummistan, I would think there must be some decent Indies floating about. I did have a guy come from Carpetright to measure up and give some estimates but he seemed to be plucking figures out of thin air. Our lounge is 35ft by 12ft and he seemed to randomly add things left right and centre
Cheers,
If you're on the east side on Birmingham Direct Carpets at Balsall common are good. Carpet from there were cheaper than Carpetright with 70% off and have lasted much better.I wasn't expecting the topic to get any love
