Man Cave / Shed

Not interested in overseas sites, thanks.
Are sheds different in other countries or are you a UKIP fundamentalist?Garage Journal
I already have a fairly decent 'shed' (no porn, sorry). But there are many others out there that have great spaces that would fall into the 'cave' or 'man shed' category.
I suspect most replies have been from the younger members of this forum who have yet to find the need for their own "space".
The reason for not wanting overseas sites is the 'Americanisation' of most of them out there. The British have our own history, engineering, art, clubs, sports etc. and we may prefer to display them. It could be art, furniture, sculpture, engineering, model making, car restoration or building, music, film, brewing, etc. etc. The list is endless.
I am not anti the States, but we have our own culture even though it may not always stand out.

Ah, so it is UKIP fundamentalist.I suspect most replies have been from the younger members of this forum who have yet to find the need for their own "space".

I'm not yet 40, so yes, I'm young-ish.
They're all the same:
Paint the walls white, fit grey nylon carpet if feeling flash and fill with generic crap that celebrates some warped view of masculinity fixed in about 1968.
For starters: Picture of Steve McQueen, then some iffy watercolours of Austins and Jaguars outside a country pub. Maybe a photo of a Spitfire plane. Garnish with other spurious signage: old petrol station advertisement, a long forgotten barber's shop, Players cigarettes, that sort of thing. Lightly sprinkle with modern irony: poster with a picture of a comedy moustache or a banner that reads 'I hate Clement Atlee' or something. That's it.
Well partially, you'd do well to consider a horrid old sofa and one of those mini-fridge thingys full of real ale. Perhaps a table football setup too?
Should I come into possession of a large garage I fully intend to paint the inside pink and decorate it with plastic Disney princess figurines. Just to be genuinely alternative.

A culture apparently so strong that you need ideas as to what you want to hang on your walls? Man up, grow a pair, and hang wtf you want to hang.I am not anti the States, but we have our own culture even though it may not always stand out.

They're all just feckin jealous!!
Yep, I'm jealous... Hey-ho, that should be resolved by the weekend, when groundworks start for the triple garage with two-post lift...Hmm. I haven't got the first clue what I want to hang on the walls, but I do know it needs to be _BRITISH_, damnit...
Actually, that's a lie. I've already got MORE than enough stuff to be hanging on the walls... I'm not sure I'll have enough wall.
