I need to fit an extractor to a bathroom, the only option is to vent through the roof.

I know there are adapters available for normal tiles, but not sure if they will work well here.

This is the roof:

Can anyone recommend me the best option/product for venting through this type of roof?

Cheers

There is a slate vent available, but whatever you fit, its going to stick out like a sore thumb

Some thing like this is what's needed I think lead weathering slate. Slide a length of 4'' soil pipe through it into the roof void, secure it somehow, then connect your vent from the bathroom onto it. Impressive slates BTW!

ETA A cowl of some sort on the external pipe as well, rain water running down it to fan might not be a good idea!

Cheers, I suppose a mushroom vent on top would be fine.

Is fitting it just a case of remove current slates around where it's to go, slice a hole in the under-felt, poke tube through into the roof void, then slates back on as best as poss over the top of the aluminium sheet? Or do I need to seal it against the slates somehow?

Pretty much as you described... Bit of soil pipe with a mushroom on top to keep the weather out. Just remember to brace the pipework that goes down into the loft space to keep it vertical with a clip or two.

This what you need and it sits flush with the slates and has nothing sticking up past the slates.

I'm a roofer and I've fitted hundreds of these.

Cheers Van, that looks great!

I assume there is a drain at the bottom of it, for any rain water to drain out?

The water drains out of the bottom of the grating, these vents can be used for roof space ventilation, extractors and soil application.
