Wondering if anyone has any recommendations for decent quality office furniture? I'm looking for one or two desks (not decided yet whether I need a corner unit or two desks) with modesty panels / solid ends, cable management, then some cupboards and filing units. Office has oak floor so am considering oak coloured units though I don't want the room to resemble a sauna with too much wood everywhere, so open to suggestions. I'm currently using Ikea stuff which I've moved in from the last place which is not really fit for purpose now. I've had a google and there seems to be a lot of options out there but want to see things in the flesh before buying. Eg. I had a look at some stuff from Staples which looked great on the website but which was very flimsy in real life which cheap fixtures, drawer runners etc.
Any suggestions/recommendations to go an look at (Im based in Milton Keynes)

You can spend as much or as little as you want.... any idea on budget, or similar to what you'd spent at Ikea before?

Hi Matt,

I've recently used this company for furniture: http://www.ningbofurniture.co.uk/

Good quality at a decent price, sometimes have to wait for delivery depending on the order but worth it.

Can't see any office desks / cupboards / filing systems on there unless I'm missing something?

If you're in MK I'm sure Costco will have some decent stuff.

Thanks - budget will be whatever it needs to be to get something I'm happy with. Can't see anything on there that fits the bill but thanks for the link.

You'd think that wouldn't you? But actually they don't have anything.

Heh. I'm somewhat surprised to find out that £1200 for a Herman Miller Aeron was a bargain. I'm in the wrong business!

Don't google Stressless price lists then smile My office sofa and chair are Stressless and my wallet took a severe hammering but they are so comfortable and all the research I did suggested they last so hopefully they will turn out to be good value.

If you have expensive taste I don't think you can go wrong with Vitra, Sedus, etc. Also with a lot of these (Aerons especially), they are so popular in offices that they go very cheap on eBay, so once you find a model you like... go eBay hunting for bust businesses!

If you want something a bit more original, consider people like SCP who manufacture a lot of 'independent' designers.

I looked at the different ranges on Viking and couldn't decide what the quality was like. Is it quite solid with decent drawer runners and fixtures or is it all a bit "MFI" ? Any particular range you recommend?

I dunno!! The office girls order it, all I do is sit at it and work.

Seems decent enough to use though. Nothing spectacular, but its only office desks!
