Its pretty much bang on 3 hours if you sail out of Lymington or Portsmouth depending on which end of the island you want to stay.

If you are looking to commercially let then make sure you cover off who can do the change-overs and how much before taking the plunge.
A few houses in the village where we have a holiday home are being resold due to the lack of people to do the change-overs and, consequently, the costs involved. This is despite moving to Friday, Saturday and Sunday scheduling in the village.
