Replacing fluorescent garage lights

Do your units have the old-style choke ballast with a plug-in starter? They don't work too well in the cold, as many garages are. The newer electronic control units are better in the cold, and the tubes seem to last longer too.
4 of the 5 have the old style starter, the one that refuses to work has the new style. Looks like the tube i need is £2.79 so think i'll stay with old tech lighting for a while Grandad Gaz said:
Have you seen the LED replacements for florescents?
Wow, they are brilliant and will probably last forever. Shame they are so expensive, though.
Saw the prices in screw fix !Wow, they are brilliant and will probably last forever. Shame they are so expensive, though.
