Hallway light bulb keeps blowing

For many years the upstairs hallway light always blew quickly. We put it down that the light was usually left on overnight for the kids.

Now it's not left on overnight we've noticed the shortness of life of the bulb compared to others. The last two bulbs have lasted no more than one month.

Any logical reason why this would happen?

Most likely a bad contact somewhere. Check that all the terminal screws are tight, and that the contact points in the fitting are clean. If it's a pendant fitting, probably worth changing it, as they are cheap.
