Would Hornetrider like bitter, lager or stout?

Yes, it's the original, brick built, twin chamber, septic tank. Again, it went in as part of the 1960's build.

The original was capped with a series of sort of concrete lintels my dad made (more reinforced concrete - he loved the stuff! I remember using my finger to put the date on one when before it set - 1966!.

They were (a) begining to fail and (b) looked bloody awful. Consequently we put some new ones down, put sleepers around them & covered the lot in golden gravel. When the tank needs emptying it's just a case of brushing the gravel to one side to give access to the manhole cover. I don't think it looks too bad really.

My understanding (at the time at least - things may have changed) is that you pay the full rate & claim it back in one job lot at the end.

Here you go chaps - the weather was nearly ok this morning so took a few snaps

A few shrubs have gone in to break the lawn up a bit & I've pulled some of the dead bits of the hedge out & replaced with laurel - it will take a while to establish but I'm hoping it will work out ok.

And finally, some snaps of the damage caused by the storms last Feb (I'd forgotten they were still on the camera) - this was not a pleasant sight to come home to!

It is but the original plan was to utilise as much of of the old building as possible - it was only when we got into it we realised that most of it had to come down.

Also, given the trouble we had getting planning for a renovation, I dread to think what our chances would have been for a new build.
