Having just taken delivery of 'bright, warm white' led g9 bulbs and found out they are, well, neither warm or bright, does anyone have any first hand experience with what I'm after.
The ones I have are 3w. Cheers fellas, Mark

Probably too small to really be effective. To get high brightness you need a decent amount of power which will mean a decent driver, voltage and drive current. Also heat in the diode which would then require a heat sink. A G9 lamp doesn't really lend itself to this so will be limited.

Warm whites are typically 2700k-3500k just so you have something to work with.

Hi Guy, thanks for the reply, yes I was hoping to get something 2700k, but they are more like 4000k. They are mains powered, forgot to mention.

As per my original email then. The platform is too small to accommodate anything more powerful. Really, with these 70-100 lumen is what you are going to expect. With LED, the wattage is not an indicator of performance - as a wattage comparison, we get 400 lumen from one of our 4W products but that's got a heat sink and a powerful driver.

Thanks Guy, I take it yours is a complete unit? At the moment, I'm just looking to replace existing bulbs until we start to decorate, then I can take a better look at complete solutions. Until then the search goes on!
